We thought we'd best let you know what we've been up to lest you think we are merely living the musician stereotype of getting up at 2pm in the afternoon and drinking wine in dark pubs until 2 in the morning (ahh those were the days)
Not even close to reality. We have been busy recording tracks for our new album! You can have a sneaky peak because we have just posted the first 2 right here on our myspace page. The official launch is on November 7th at one of our favourite venues- The Bluetile Lounge! We will not only be giving everyone in attendance a limited edition copy of our new single, but we will also be premiering our Music Video for 'Shrapnel'. Then we are heading off to WA for our first ever gigs in that fair state- We cannot wait, it's going to be fun. (and quite possibly drunken, should our friend Qynn have anything to say about it!)
The new album has some very special guest artists- listen closely and you might just hear the string playing prowess of Tim & Tamil from True Live along with the beats both electronic and organic of Soup and Thom from Miso. We have really enjoyed expanding the sound and are hard at work, making sure that the whole thing can be realised live still with just the two of us.
Oh and our last exciting news is that our Single is to be included in the gift lounge at the American Music awards in November this year- well that is as long as Kanye doesn't replace it with Beyonce singles!
We hope you are all fantastic and hope to see you at the Launch in November.

2009 Update - March 19, 2009
Ahoy!! Well we have been quietly (well that's a lie, we are never quiet) been doing our gigs across town, we just played St Kilda Festival and despite Aimee managing to spill water on her laptop, had an awesome time. We are organising a charity event at Off The Kerb to raise money for Wildlife Victoria, 4 shelters were lost in the recent fires and we need to raise some cashola to help rebuild them, so stay tuned for the details in the next few days.
We will be doing a live recording of our gigs in the next week so you'll hear some of our new tracks which take full advantage of our set up. If you haven't been to an osh10 gig in a little while, we think you may just be a bit happy with the evolving sound. We have invented some new dance moves to go with it too. Mike likes to stand up for the entire set and do this crazy riverdance shuffling thing to trigger samples with his feet- it is worth coming to a gig, for that alone.
In April we will be in the studio proper, cause it's about time for a new album, which is cause for a high pitch squeal of joy that goes something like this:
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! We are finalising details for tours to India and the Middle East in 2009/2010 and are booking in gigs around Australia for all the time inbetween.
XO Aims & Mike
Album Review from Radio Indy - August 19, 2008
osh10 just received a review from Radio Indy and were also made 'Gold Artists' on their site. Hooray! Here's the review:
“osh10” is a self-titled trip-hop album with elements of funk and jazz from a talented Australian duo. The group is made up of two people and one instrument – Mike Macgregor on the electronic bass and Aimee Chapman as the vocalist who unleashes beautiful melodies and harmonies with her big cute voice. All of the sounds you hear on “osh10,” with the exception of the closer “Lullaby,” are either made with Macgregor’s bass or Chapman’s vocals without any additional instruments. They are more stripped down than The White Stripes, yet they create a sound just as solid. The arrangements are excellent and interweave Chapman’s strong vocal performance with Macgregor’s funk and jazz-infused bass licks. At times the two play off one another and at other times they give one another the spotlight with an a cappella performance or a bass solo that would certainly impress the pants off of Les Claypool. This album is also well-recorded, the bass licks and the vocals sound clean and crisp and the album is ready to go to eleven - so to speak. “Mr Sheen” opens up the album with an outstanding funk bass line, great lyrics and an excellent vocal performance. “Sferics” is an instrumental track that loops Macgregor’s bass to give the track an ambient electronic sound. “Lullaby” closes things out by introducing the xylophone and piano to the instrumental picture to imitate a wind-up music box and back another outstanding lyrical and vocal performance. osh10 is a unique band with a unique sound created by a talented bassist and a great female vocalist with a big voice. Fans of trip-hop and great bass styling, check out osh10.

Skope Magazine's Artist to Watch- August 2008 - June 14, 2008
We have just found out that osh10 is Skope Magazine's Artist to Watch for August 2008. If you log onto their website at http://skopemag.com in a few weeks time there will be a feature on us! (Not too mention a heap of news and reviews from established and up and coming artists from all around the world!)
22/8/08: Here is what they had to say!
My Fave: My favorite this month is the unusual duo, osh 10, that combines the creative bass talents of Mike Macgregor and the amazing vocals of Aimee Chapman. Using loops and effects, this duo creates a full band sound. Macgregor’s bass work is inventive and complements Chapman’s wide vocal range. Her delivery is very much her own, but it is reminiscent of Bjork or Canada’s Ember Swift, and her lyrics are pure poetry, dealing with relationships and inner awareness rather than Swift’s social-consciousness. This is definitely a group to watch. They have toured Canada, and there is hope that osh10 will find their way to the States soon.
Listen to osh10 live! - June 2, 2008
Our friends at New Found Frequency were on hand at the Australian Export Showcase at New Music West in Canada to record our set and you can have a listen at the following link:
Well it already seems like a big surreal dream, but we made it to Vancouver to play a couple of showcases and absorb life inside a music festival world. The first night we played at a gorgeous little club called The Libra Room with fellow Melbournians 'The Tiger and Me' local act 'Kensington Prairie' and a mad..(as in loco) Icelandic Band called 'Sprengjuhöllin', we had a ball and the bar staff bought albums and danced around for us.
The following night was the bigger scale New Found Frequency Australian showcase featuring Aussie bands from all around the country in all different genres. Some highlights were the gorgeous Tiger and Me- check out their beautiful folky tunes on myspace and we have nothing but adoration for guitarist/singer Qynn from WA who not only plays up a storm, but gets the audience to buy him shots of tequila during his set- Class. We met people from Canadian media outlets, Film & TV licensees and music fans in the process and had a great time, which will hopefully also translate to some good industry relationships- time will tell! Once NMW wrapped up, Mike & I hired a car and braved the opposite side of the road and spent a few days drive out to Banff- So overwhelmingly beautiful, it was so incredibly humbling to drive through such magnificent scenery, we had to get out and one point and have a snowball fight to make sure that the picture-perfect view infront of us was real! We finished off our trip with a visit to San Francisco, and it was the perfect end, I can definitely see myself living there for a while and we were really torn when the time came to leave. So here we are back in Melbourne, ready to dive into some more gigs, some new songs, some recording and whatever other exciting things will be coming our way!

Northcote Social Club/St Kilda Festival - February 11, 2008
St Kilda Festival and Northcote Social Club
Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us in the past week. Thursday night saw us supporting Justin Grounds at the Northcote Social Club, it was a really brilliant night, such a considerate and supportive audience, and a pleasure to play in a venue so perfectly set up for live music.
If you haven't heard of Justin Grounds, check him out on myspace or his website- he is certainly a talented fellow and I have had his song Francesco stuck in my head ever since.
On Sunday we had a beautiful afternoon performing as part of The Chill Out session at the Palais Theatre for The St Kilda Festival. It is easily my favourite musical space in Melbourne and a big tick on my wishlist of venues to perform at. Also on the bill were 2 stunning females Jo Kelly Stephenson who released a great album last year and Georgia Fields and the Freeways. If you want some beautiful, unique music- have a listen to these ladies.
We also need to say a big thank you to our lovely backing vocalists for these gigs Sarah Baxter and Catrina Seiffert who are just true professionals and so easy to work with- we love you heaps!!!!
